False Sciatica/Piriformis Entrapment Relief
The piriformis is a large muscle that runs from
the sacrum to the head of the femur. The sciatic
nerve, in most of the population, runs
underneath that muscle. When the piriformis gets
tight (sitting for long periods of time or
wearing a wallet in one's back pocket are common
culprits), it can compress the sciatic nerve and
lead to sciatica-type symptoms. The majority of
sciatica complaints usually turn out to be
piriformis entrapment syndrome, which are much
easier to resolve than nerve/disc damage
issues.
