Away is good, but home is best

Man, I can't believe how good life is.
I have a lot to be thankful for right now, from a quick and easy healing process to an invigorating vacation to a safe and happy return home.  Allow me to share the love.

Surgery went well.
Turns out the ganglion cyst was actually a giant cell tumor.  They're also very common and benign.  No big deal.

For what it's worth, trying to remove stitches with only one hand is about as awkward and annoying as you'd think.  Even more so when using the hospital-provided suture removal kit with crappy dull scissors.

I'm just sayin'.

Ireland went well.
Man, we went everywhere.

For those who care, the itinerary went something like this:  Dublin, Galway, Inishmore (Aran Islands), Galway again, Cliffs of Moher, took the ferry across the River Shannon, Sheep's Head Peninsula, Heir Island, Kinsale, the English Marketplace in Cork, Charles Fort, the Jameson distillery, Waterford crystal, the Bushmills distillery, Giant's Causeway, Carrick-a-Rede bridge, Ballintoy Harbor (a set location for Game of Thrones), the Dark Hedges, and back to Dublin.

The weather was generally unbelievably fantastic.  Sunny with blue skies was a regular theme.  We only had one day of tromping around in the rain, and that was our last day in Dublin--which, for the record, has many delightful little shops to duck into.  There was also an exciting evening of gale-force winds in Kinsale and a massive hailstorm at Charles Fort, but we timed things well enough to be inside and under cover for the most dramatic bits.

One last note:  following Roland Gau's missive of, "If at some point you don't ask yourself, 'What have I gotten myself into?' then you're not doing it right" . . . well, we did it right.  Most notably when crossing the rope bridge at Carrick-a-Rede.  It wasn't the height so much as the wind; if you look closely, you can see my hair streaming sideways across my forehead.  What you cannot see is how white my knuckles were.

Ah well.  It's an adventure, right?

Massage is going well.
Had my first couple of clients today since my surgery.  At one point, I thought to myself, Ah, yes.  I've missed this!

Hand did great.  Thumb's healed up just fine.  Energy's good and I'm rarin' to go.  So if you've been holding off and waiting for my return, wait no longer.  Strike while the iron is hot!  Or the schedule is open, whichever you prefer.  Either way, carpe the hell out of that diem.

And a bonus for those of you who have read this far.
Mother's Day is coming up, right around the corner.  Motherhood, I believe, is the ultimate undertaking.  Not one I'm interested in experiencing myself, thankyouverymuch, but I hella appreciate the dames who do.

So here's a little something, keeping in with what seems to be this month's adventure theme:
Buy a gift certificate for an hour or longer massage and get a free upgrade.  Dealer's choice.
I may add on a hot oil scalp treatment.  Maybe it'll be a foot scrub.  Perhaps some free aromatherapy.  Could be a full-body dry skin exfoliation.  Who knows?  But this deal is only available until Sunday night (Mother's Day).

To purchase a gift certificate, just call, text, or stop by my office (please get ahold of me first to make sure I'll be available).  You can even buy them online.  (Please note that I will still need to mail out the certificate, so an online purchase may not be an ideal last-minute solution.)

Happy spring!

When not doing massage, Erica can often be found doing yoga, chasing goats, or puttering in the kitchen.  On occasion, these activities have been known to overlap.
