Three things make a newsletter, right? Three and a half?
First off . . .
Thank you to all of you, my amazing clients, for a fantastic winter season! I have absolutely loved having my new office, and I've gotten tons of compliments on my website and online booking. Thank you so much for referring me to your friends and family--I appreciate all your support and trust.Extended hours
Now that the craziness of winter is over and I am no longer scheduled at One Steamboat Place and Bear Claw, I will be open every other Friday through mud season, then Fridays full-time starting in mid-June. So, if you have lots of driving to do over Memorial Day weekend, I'll be available to help you unknot before getting in that car. I will be open that Saturday as well, so if you or your relatives will be driving in from out of town and need some ironing out, I'll be around. As for my out-of-town clients, I know a lot of you and your families come in over that weekend. If a bunch of you want to schedule on a particular day, I am willing to accommodate you on either Sunday or Monday. I'm planning on taking at least one of those days off, so if you know your family is going to want massages, best to reserve me in advance--first come, first served. For an extra fee, I do make house calls, so please know that option is available to you as well.
Dog days
As some of you know, I have started bringing my hefty little 15-lb Chihuahua to the office with me on Saturdays. Peabody is 15 years old, mostly deaf, and has cataracts, abominable breath, and a little arthritis, but is still a very happy little dog. He does not go in the treatment room, but will occasionally sniff at the bottom of the door while I'm in session.However.
I know that some of my clients are allergic to dogs. Others are Just Not Dog People. If you have an appointment booked on a Saturday and you would rather Peabody not be at the office, please let me know. No explanation is necessary; this is your time, and you deserve to be able to make the most of it.
Speaking of critters . . .
For those of you who can't get enough goat stories (what is it with you people?), I am pleased to announce that I will be writing a monthly DIY homesteading column for Routt County's new alternative magazine, the Valley Voice. The articles will be focused on things like building a raised garden bed, food preservation methods, and so forth, but at least I have silly goat stories to fall back on if I have writer's block. This column is an extension of my role as board member for Deep Roots, a non-profit involved in the local food movement. I know this isn't something massage-based, but I've had several clients ask me questions about our little farm and thought that some of you might be interested. I figured I'd give you guys a heads-up, too, rather than suddenly discovering my name on the byline. The first issue of the Valley Voice will be coming out this Wednesday, and I'm rather excited to be writing again. Enjoy!
Riddle me this!
Hooray! All y'all got the hint last time (okay, maybe not all y'all, but a lot more!) and I got some answers regarding last month's question. For those who missed it, the olecranon process is part of the elbow. This month, there's a new riddle! Even if you answered last month's, you're eligible to answer this month's, all in the name of entering to win a free half-hour upgrade (and no, if you missed last month, you can't answer it now). With that, on to this month's question:
Where is the popliteus located?
In closing
Once again, thank you all so much for your support and enthusiasm. I appreciate your feedback, especially in areas where I could continue to improve. I am here to serve you, so if there is something you'd like me to add or change (or not!), please let me know by phone (970.819.1074), email, in person, or carrier pigeon. Anonymous letters work, too, if you desperately want to tell me something but don't want to hurt my feelings; my mailing address is down at the bottom of the page.
On second thought, carrier pigeon might not be so effective--there's a good-sized fox population 'round here.
Enjoy your spring.
